Chris Moneymaker was born November 21, 1975 in Atlanta, Georgia and is an American poker player with his mind blowing win at the 2003 World Series of Poker. This win was what changed the world of poker because he made a world record when he became a poker world champion. He had qualified for this game at an online poker site which earned him the name “Moneymaker Effect” by the press. “Moneymaker” as a modification of their German last -name: “Nurmacher.” This was because his ancestors made silver and gold coins and had chosen the name “Nurmacher”.
He followed in the family business of wealth creation when he earned a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee. He did not become a millionaire overnight even though his surname is Moneymaker. His autobiography, Moneymaker: How an Amateur Poker Player Turned $40 into $2.5 Million at the World Series of Poker which was published in March 2005. He made it clear what he was doing in 2003 before he won a seat into the Main Event of 2003 WSOP. He was working as an account that he was taken as another black horse that would come and go at the end of the tournament. Indeed, he was a dark horse because professional sports handicapper Lou Diamond called Moneymaker his “dark horse to win the whole tournament.
Today, Chris Moneymaker is living up to his name because money now flows though him because he obeyed the call of poker. His ancestors would be envious of him because they would have become poker players in our world if they are seeing their own making money as dust in a card game that would not force them to sweat while making silver and gold coins for others to pay from them. And this game is played in a very comfortable environment as if money grows on trees when they are been rewarded in cash.
