You may probably hate him for his anti-online poker position. Still this is the man who could bring National Football League to Sin City Las Vegas.
Sheldon Adelson, the Billionaire casino owner, has proposed a US$ 1 billion stadium in Sin City for a NFL squad as well as has met with Oakland Raiders, among other squads, to talk about it, as per new media reports.
Adelson’s Sands Corp. is flipping a public-private collaboration for a domed arena somewhere near University of Nevada Las Vegas. Also, the school would use the stadium, as per a report from Associated Press. The state legislature would require to allow public funds for the plan. As per Las Vegas Review-Journal, Sands is looking for US$ 780 million in public funds.
Earlier this month, the National Football League shot down a try-out by the Raiders to move to Los Angeles. Even if Las Vegas does not get a National Football League squad, the stadium is still of interest to Sands.
