Mike Matusow- A Brief History

Very much professional games are present around us. Only few games turn remembered much. One such game is playing Poker where many professionals turn playing this game. Only professional players can hit this game and set a record. One such record winning player turns out to be Mike Matusow. Mike was born on April 30th 1968. He was born in California. Though nicknamed as The Mouth for his trash talking at the table, he has even gone to the extent of ruining the day simply by his misjudgement known as Mike Matsusow Meltdown.

It was early 1990’s; Mike started playing the game vigorously. He started his playing Poker, where he was a Poker dealer earlier. At the age of 18, Mike started playing video poker. He was being taught by Steve who was a rounder who introduced him to Texas hold’em by the year 1989. Mike besides playing game, he also hosted Card player’s poker radio show/podcast, The Circuit. By the by, Mike wrote an autobiography named as Check Raising the Devil which was released in the year 2009. He has owned the 4 bracelets in the World Series of Poker by the year 1999, 2002, and 2008 and in 2013.

It was in the year 1999; he first won his bracelet by defeating Alex Brenes in the heads up battle to own the title. In 2001, he finished in the 6th place is WSOP. At the 2002, Mike has won the second bracelet by defeating Daniel Negreanu where he won $5,000 Omaha hi/low split 8 or Better event. In the year 2005, he finished in the 9th place out of 5,619 players, where few months later, he turned winning WSOP Tournament of champions in heads up battle against Hyot Corkins, where the record is set that he was the 1st player to win 2 million dollar prize in the very same year. In 2013, he won his 4th bracelet by defeating Matthew Ashton.
